I’ll like to introduce my Derby County team which has been my most enjoyable save on this years edition. Currently into my sixth season with the East Midlands club. I built this team around English wonderkid Will Hughes who is now the club captain and on his way to becoming a national legend.
Since the 2013/14 season we’ve managed to win the Sky Bet Championship once, the Premier League twice, the FA Cup twice, the Capital One Cup once and the Community Shield twice. I was able to reach the Europa League final during the 15/16 season but wasn’t able to come home with the trophy.
Meet the Team
My initial aim was to create an English based team, this is something I was able to do but the excessive prices became annoying but the squad is quite young and does have an English foundation to it. The average age is around 24. (Click on the images for the zoomed version).
Jack Butland has been our main keeper for a few seasons now and is ever so reliable. Marek Stech was signed as backup and will only spend one season with us. Christiano Andrey is our future number one and will take over Butland as our main GK in the future.
Very strong in this position. Andre Wisdom and Kurt Zouma are my main centre back pairings solid pair and always do the job. Stefano Denswil has fallen down the pecking order but he is a good back up same with Dedryck Boyata and Michael Keane. Rogerio Barbosa a newgen is a versatile player and plays in cup games mostly.
Patrick Walke isn’t even 21 years old yet and his stats are amazing! Picked him up on a free during my first season and has been a solid right back since. Joel Ward played an important part during his first seasons now he plays as back up to Walke. John Stones has only featured off the bench or in cup games, most likely to be sold.
Lucas Digne has been a fantastic player, my director of football scooped him up for a bargain of £3 million a few seasons back. He is now France’s main left back and one of my best players. Cosme Rios came in from Mexican side club América on a free. At only 20 years old his development has been impressive and can become a big player for us in the future.
Gaston Gil Romero is a new addition to the squad who joined in January he will be my main defensive player. Paul Robertson a newgen from Scotland spent last season on loan at Arsenal and came back hungry to impress, he has developed nicely still only 20.
Will Hughes and James Ward-Prowse are my main central mids, they both play an important role in the tactic and team. Marco Russo a newgen picked up on a free is an attacking midfielder by trade but he can play in a deeper role. Ryan Ledson has potential to be a key player and his versatility comes in handy.
Bruma the Portuguese winger is our most talented wide man and has impressed in his first season at Derby. Tom Ince has somewhat fallen down the rankings since the arrival of Bruma but he still does the job. Raheem Sterling is usually a great impact sub and rotates with Ince. Luis Paredes is a recent buy and is only 19 years old I have high hopes for the young Chilean winger. Jesse Lingard is out on loan and will be sold when he returns. Niko Lehtinen has bags of potential and is currently on loan getting match experience.
This is Ross Barkley‘s main position and he has excelled in this role. Our record purchase who won World player of the year last year has had a quiet season but easily one of the best at the club. Juan Fernando Quintero a new addition was more of a luxary buy flexing our spending powers, the Colombian will give Barkley some competition.
Hervin Ongenda.. What a player his stats and attributes speak for himself one hell of a striker. Jeison Quiroz a Colombian wonderkid has been making a name for himself in his first season at Derby so much talent. Yassine Benzia and Richairo Zivkovic have been back-ups this season but are still fantastic players. Eoghan Darcy will lead the line with Quiroz in the future, he is a very highly rated 19-year-old! Fernando Martinez is currently on loan and will be moved on when he returns.
